Get Involved

When you support the Hoover Neighborhood through volunteerism, you're helping build a vibrant and engaged neighborhood to live in.

There are several ways to volunteer, and most volunteers only spend 1-2 hours a month working on neighborhood projects.

HNA Board

The Hoover Neighborhood Association exists to promote a better neighborhood for all Hoover residents. The HNA is governed by a board of elected neighborhood volunteers who work together to create opportunities to bring neighbors together and inform residents of events and news in the neighborhood.

The HNA board meets 4-6 times a year, including several neighborhood meetings and seasonal get-togethers.

Board offices include President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Communications Officer, Treasurer and several board members at large. Board members are elected each year at the October HNA meeting.

Board members help organize community events for the neighborhood, facilitate community conversations, advocate for the neighborhood with the City of Tulsa and provide extra support for things like Trick-or-Treat in the neighborhood.

Plus, we're fun!

Board Elections are October 21, 2025

HNA Offices

President
The President is the leader of the neighborhood association, overseeing all activities and ensuring that the board's goals are met. This role involves presiding over meetings, making sure discussions are productive and decisions are implemented effectively. The President also represents the association in the broader community and is responsible for executing important documents on behalf of the group.

Vice President

The Vice President acts as the right hand to the President, stepping in to lead whenever the President is unavailable. This role is a great way to gain leadership experience and typically involves working closely with the President on key projects. Often, the Vice President is preparing to take on the President's role in the future, making this position essential for continuity in the board’s leadership.

Recording Secretary

The Recording Secretary plays a crucial role in maintaining the association's official records, including minutes of all meetings. This position ensures that all members are informed and that the association’s history is accurately documented. The Secretary also handles administrative tasks, such as preparing agendas and distributing meeting notices, helping to keep the board organized and efficient.

Communications Officer
The Communications Officer is responsible for all correspondence between the board and the community, ensuring that everyone stays informed about neighborhood events, meetings and important updates. This role involves managing newsletters, social media and other communication channels, making it essential for fostering a strong, connected community.

Treasurer
The Treasurer manages the financial health of the association, overseeing budgets, expenses and donations. This role involves tracking all financial transactions, preparing financial reports and ensuring that funds are used responsibly. The Treasurer also works closely with the board to plan and allocate resources effectively, helping to support the association’s initiatives and goals.

Board Members
Board Members are the versatile team players of the neighborhood association, stepping in to assist with various tasks and projects as needed. Their contributions are vital to the board’s success. These members bring fresh perspectives and help with decision-making, event planning and other activities that keep the association running smoothly. Their flexibility and willingness to pitch in wherever necessary make them an essential part of the board.
